Jake began his film practice in 2017 when he ignited his film studies at Austin College (Sherman, TX). He started as a Lead PA, assisting on indie films such as The Summoned (2022) starring J Quinton Johnson (Hamilton) and Emma Fitzpatrick (The Social Network), commercials including Champs Sports featuring NFL player Micah Parsons, and award shows including the Academy of Country Music Awards hosted by Reba McEntire. While assisting, Jake was also developing iPhone commercials for local businesses for a couple of years while receiving his BA and later his MA abroad in England from one of the top 10 universities in the world (UCL). Later in 2025 he founded Tidwellian with a vision of a production company for all by offering productions of ranging budget types access to Hollywood-level image quality for less.

Tidwellian is a one stop shop headed by a one man band. Jake excels in being the sole creative entity behind projects, handling everything from pre to post production. He also accepts roles on bigger budget productions such as Cinematographer, A-Cam Op, B-Cam Op, and Second Unit DP. Jake is open to taking on any project, so feel free to reach out if you want to work together. Sidenote: Jake only performs coloring and editing operations on projects which he shoots himself and does not take on jobs seeking solely a colorist or editor.
